did you know walking or running is actually just you losing and regaining your balance - over and over again? so really it should be called controlled falling, but let's leave that for another day. yes, i am that guy. i've had my nose buried in human anatomy books, simply in awe of the vivid images that would later shape my life so profoundly, long before i could even say my own name - ken robotham.
as much as i'd love to keep dropping some human body truths on you (like if every one of our muscles pulled in the same direction we would be able to lift three or more elephants) i'm actually here to help you get back to doing what you love, and moving how you want. even though your body is no doubt one of the greatest instruments you will ever own, it speaks a language of its own. no wonder it is pretty tricky to navigate what exactly you need to do to make sure your beautiful machinery is working optimally.
don't worry. that's what i'm here for. i will cut through the bullsh*t and work with you to decode what your body is saying. you will learn how to interpret your body's specific signals, so then you can both go back to living the life you want. as much as I'm sure you and i will get along like a house on fire, the ideal outcome is getting you to a place where you won't need me.
i'm a physiotherapist and a certified strength and conditioning coach, but most importantly i'm someone who is enamoured with movement and all the astounding things our bodies can and want to do. if i'm not bush-bashing my way to the nearest secret swimming hole with my high school crush and sweetheart, i am searching the market for a fashionable barefoot shoe - yet to find one. the truth is i genuinely cannot imagine a life without movement, and you shouldn't have to either.
what is grit and why is it important?
